Honorary Advisory Committee

Relief Applications seeks guidance on the development of innovations to answer specific humanitarian needs. This Advisory Board plays a crucial role: providing unfettered, objective advice about strategic plans, vision, and programs priorities. The board is comprised of well established experts chosen among leading professionals for their work in the private and humanitarian sectors.

Board Members

Steve McAndrew, Head of Operations - International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)

Over the past 18 years, Steve McAndrew has been on the front lines of many of the largest disasters around the world, leading, coordinating and participating in field operations in response missions. He has worked with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent during response operations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas regions. He was the head of operations for the Red Cross response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010, and also led the operation to stop the Ebola crisis in West Africa. In 2016 He was awarded the Member of the British Empire medal by Queen Elizabeth II for outstanding humanitarian service in leading Red Cross response to Ebola in Sierra Leone. 

Robert Patton, Technical Adviser, Emergency Management Consultant at Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA)

For the last 17 years Robert Patton has been engaged in risk and emergency management within the international humanitarian arena. He is originally from New Zealand, and has lived and worked in the UK, India and Indonesia. He is currently based in Sydney, Australia and is contracted to provide technical advice and training services to the ADRA global network of offices, with a specific focus on emergency preparedness. Robert is a member of ADRA’s global ERT (Emergency Response Team). His most recent deployments have been in response to the Nepal earthquake, Cyclone Matthew in Haiti and the IDP crisis in northern Iraq. In 2001 he was awarded a Queen's Service Medal (QSM) in recognition of services to the community.

Florent Del Pinto, Head of Emergency Operations at International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)

With more than 10 years experience in the Red Cross Movement, Florent Del Pinto is presently Head of Emergency Operations (HeOps) for the IFRC. He started his field experience as livelihood program manager in Colombia before becoming Head of Delegation for the French Red Cross in Haiti before and after the 2010 earthquake.  He spent more than 3 years in Haiti and the Caribbean Zone, coordinating operations and programs for IFRC. He has also been deployed as Regional Representative in the Middle East to coordinate FRC response to Syrian and Iraq Crisis in Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. Due to his strong experience of post-emergency situations, he has been Field Assessment Coordination Team Leader (FACT) for 2015 Nepal operations and has recently been deployed to Ethiopia for the Drought response and Haiti for the Hurricane Matthew.

Sébastien Bonnefoy, CEO, Soyuz

Team-leader and manager, he has more than 18 years experience in defining digital and content strategies for brands, improving the strategy, organisation and advertisement of major companies and their subsidiaries around the world. He defined strategies for one of the worldwide top 3 Retail Companies and managed projects in 15 countries for Renault. He collaborated with the French State to identify modernisation possibilities for charities dealing with food matters in order to distribute subsidies and has participated in development projects in Burkina Faso (building a library and a school in Laye). He has also developed digital and content strategies for fundraising purposes with Soyuz.
